Once you have booked your appointment and completed the medical intake form, we are able to start assessing your needs and putting together a plan to help you achieve your goals. We ask that you dress in lightweight, athletic clothing (no jeans, please).  In general, the more skin we can see, the better we can evaluate your movement. Appointments last approximately 55 minutes and are spent entirely with a doctor of physical therapy, not an aide or assistant. You will be treated by the same licensed physical therapist each visit to promote accelerated recovery and enhance your physical therapy experience.

During your initial evaluation, we will clarify and review your injury history and goals. The information we gather from you is extremely important and helps guide our physical assessment. Your preferences and goals have a direct effect on the direction of our treatment. After getting to know you and your goals a little better, we will scan your posture and analyze how you perform critical movements involved in your everyday living. These functional movement tests help us determine the cause of the problem so that we can treat and prevent the cause from returning. This in-depth treatment is what separates us from providers of reactive healthcare, who simply chase after symptoms.

After finding the cause of the dysfunction, treatment typically consists of some type of manual intervention (soft tissue mobilization, massage, joint mobilization/manipulation), targeted stretching/strengthening, and/or neuromuscular re-education. In most cases, you will require a little bit of everything.

As part of your initial visit, you will receive guidance on what to do on your own between visits. The education component is a significant part of this appointment.  The overall success of your treatment is dependent upon you following the instructions that will be provided to you.  In order for there to be carry over and continued progress toward your goals, you will need to be an active participant in the program.

Follow-Up Physical Therapy/Performance Appointments = $150

3-Visit Package = $450 ($150/visit) to be used in two months and can be used towards your initial evaluation.

5-Visit Package = $600 ($120/visit) to be used in two months and can be used towards your initial evaluation.





*Victory Performance and Physical Therapy is out of network with insurance providers.  We are happy to provide an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  It is the patient's responsibility to confirm their insurance company's requirements.                                            
*California is a direct access state.  Patients can be treated by a physical therapist for 45 days or 12 visits, whichever comes first, before needing an MD referral.

Santo Riva DPT, OCS, NASM-CPT is the owner and founder of Victory Performance and Physical Therapy in Los Angeles, California.

Victory Performance and Physical Therapy was founded by Dr. Santo Riva, board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist, sports physical therapist and adjunct instructor of clinical physical therapy at the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy.

Dr. Riva is passionate about helping people move pain-free and optimally.  He understands and is sensitive to the emotional toll that accompanies not being able to perform daily activities of living.  He inspires to change the general public’s perception of physical therapy as only sought out when already in pain and he hopes to promote a shift in reactive physical therapy utilization to a more proactive approach.  


Amber Leonard DPT is a doctor of physical therapy and prenatal and postnatal rehabilitation specialist.

Amber Leonard, DPT is a licensed doctor of physical therapy. She received an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from USC.

As a former competitive gymnast, dancer, and runner, Amber has a passion for health and fitness and a thorough understanding of movement and body mechanics. Amber’s strong manual skills and extensive knowledge in strength, resistance, and sport-specific training allow her to excel in rehabilitating patients with orthopedic injuries and training athletes for return to sport.

In addition to rehabilitating patients with orthopedic conditions, Amber has worked as a pre- and post-natal specialist for over six years. She treats pregnant and post-partum women with musculoskeletal conditions including but not limited to low back and hip pain, sacroiliac dysfunction, pelvic misalignments, carpal tunnel, c-section sensitivity, and rectus diastasis. Amber specializes in allowing women to have a pain-free and healthy pregnancy and assisting post-partum moms to regain their fitness and return to living an active lifestyle.
